Summer Therapy

I use gardening as a "therapy" for me during the summer. I enjoy doing something very different than teaching. It gets me in touch with nature and new growth. This helps me feel refreshed. This is how I rejuvenate before a new year starts.
What "therapy" method do you use to help you during the summer?

Kid Therapy! My students asked me what I do in the summer. Play with my kids is my number one answer. It helps me balance being a teacher and being a mom since they are cheated so much during the school year.

I like to cross stitch. I cross stitch like a madwoman for a month or so then I put it away for a year! If you would like to help me with flowers, I would love the help!

I sew some. It almost seems lately that everything has gotten so busy that I hardly have time for that anymore. I try to relax. I have ben taking naps lately.

I try to relax during the summer. I used to have a summer job but found it did not allow me to get excited for school. A full summer of relaxation seems to work for me. I try to keep my schedule very free to do as I want.

Read books that I do not get to during the school year.

My therapy....well, I spend my summer learning with technology. I think that is therapy. I don't have planning for school getting in the way of my learning.

Of course, this summer I'm going on a cruise for therapy.

Gardening, working in the yard, and having time to sit back and read.

Hanging out with my kiddos is the #1 priority in the summer. I also feel like they get cheated during the year. I am also doing a few things for myself like reading, scrapbooking, crafts and playing golf.

I guess my therapy is gardening as well. I love to be outside. I thought i would like using my ipod while I was outside, but no- can't hear the quiet! I used to like to knit a year ago. . . I hope I start that up again this summer.

Again, here I am thinking about Pink's book. I have to make a conscious effort to NOT work. The hard part about that is my work IS my passion and learning my hobby.

I love gardening and yard work. It is my saving grace.
